Make-Up Tips for Your Eye Shape

    2010 - 09.01

With eye make-up as a must-have for most women, get the most out of your eye make-up by using blinc products to enhance the shape of your eye. Here are some tips and tricks for some of the most common eye shapes.

Want to extend your round eyes? Give the illusion of an elongated eye by using blinc eyeliner in your color of choice, extending a little bit beyond the corners of your eyelids.

Need help making small eyes look larger? Line your upper and lower lids with a soft color such as blinc’s eyeliner in grey followed by blinc long lash. Finish with blinc’s Fountain of Youthful Color Eyebrow Mousse to help visually enlarge your eyes.

Interested in accentuating wide-set eyes? Emphasize this great eye shape with blinc’s eyeliner in your choice of color by widening the line slightly at the outer corner.  Finish with blinc mascara.

Need to open up hooded eyes? Minimize the eyelid by drawing the attention upwards to your brows using blinc’s Fountain of Youthful Color Eyebrow Mousse to create the most perfect brow line.

Interested in softening prominent eyes? Start with blinc Fountain of Youthful Color Eye Shadow Phase One and apply a medium shade of shadow.  Then, use blinc’s eyeliner in a coordinating color to line your top lids and finish with blinc mascara.

Want to round off almond shaped eyes? Use blinc’s eyeliner in a dark shade such as black or brown until you reach the outer corner of the eye. On the outer corners, use blinc’s eyeliner in grey and create a slightly smoky look.

blinc beauty team mission: swimming in mascara

    2010 - 08.19

The blinc beauty team stumbled across this makeup maven’s desperate post online:

“I swim right after school. . . and I wear mascara everyday because I have really light/thin eyelashes. I usually wear goggles but still my eyes get wet and my mascara runs. I wear waterproof mascara but even that doesn’t work. Does anybody have experience with a certain waterproof mascara that does not run while swimming?”

Not to fret the blinc beauty team is here to help!  All you need is a tube of blinc Mascara! With blinc Mascara tiny water-resistant “tubes” form around your lashes rather than painting them like conventional mascaras. Once applied, these beauty tubes bind to your lashes and cannot run, smudge, clump, or flake, even if you cry or rub your eyes. Even when swimming with goggles on! Only when YOU are ready for removal, the tubes will effortlessly slide off your lashes into your hand without the use of a harsh makeup remover.

    blinc mascara has
been clinically tested to be non-irritating making it ideal for sensitive eyes, contact lens wearers, and active people (including swimmers) in search of a mascara whose look, hold and ease of removal is without compromise.

    Mascara History Lesson

    2010 - 08.02

Putting your face on every morning becomes as habitual as brushing your teeth.  Did you ever stop to wonder the history behind your makeup? Here is a little history lesson on every gal’s everyday product: mascara.

1800’s-In the late 19th century, Eugene Rimmel inveted cakes of mascara to darken lashes. The cakes consisted of small squares of soap mixed in with soot.  The mascara was applied with a wet brush.  The cakes still exist today, however are much more hygenic and skin-friendly than Eugene’s.

1913- Chemist T.L. Williams steps in and creates the modern mascara.  His sister Mabel was trying attract her future husband, so T.L. helped a sister out by mixing coal dust and Vaseine jelly.  Mabel’s lashes went from dull to dewey and full of length. T.L. went on to launch Maybelline a year later-named after his dear sister possibly?

1921-People were already moving on from mascara to falsies! Inventor Charles Nessler patents a machine that made artificial eyelashes.

1967-English model Twiggy becomes the poster girl for ideal lashes.  Twiggy’s tips for large and long lash look: three pairs of falsies and painting on extra lashes or “twigs” on her skin underneath her bottom lash line.

1999-blinc changes mascara forever with its original mascara invented with tubing technology and no make up remover required.  Mascara forms tiny water resistant tubes around the lash, amplifying both length and volume of the lashes.  Tubes bind to lashes preventing running, smudging, clumping, and flaking.

2001-Eyelash services are offered including extensions, tinting, and perming hailing from Asia and Europe and landing in the U.S.  Celebrities begin to take note.

2010-According to Women’s Wear Daily Eyelash extensions are named the most successful beauty & spa service.

    2010 - 07.14

All of us closeted Hill’s fans are all a buzz about the finale of the show last night. What we want to discuss is how amazing the show’s shining star Lauren Conrad looked on the The Hill’s After Show. Lauren had the perfect summer glow last night.  You can master LC’s look with the help of blinc.

Start with your brows and apply blinc Eyebrow Mousse in a color corresponding to your hair hue.  Lauren’s lids have a neutral tone, so start with blinc Eyeshadow Phase One in Flesh tone for the most natural look.  Add a dark brown shadow in your creases to highlight your eyes.  Thickly line your upper lid with blinc  Eyeliner in black, winging the liner out past your eye, add an extra coat for a dramatic look.  Lauren’s perfectly curled thick lashes make her look.  Get the same effect prepping your lash with blinc Heated Eyelash Curler, then apply a coat of blinc Mascara tubing your lashes for full volume.  Apply bronzer to your forehead, cheeks, and chin. Finish off the look with a warm peachy blush and a light pink lip. Now you’re ready to take on  a hot LA night with the perfect summer glow.
